OFFICIAL NAME OF SNACK:
FRY'S Chocolate Cream and Peppermint Cream (UK)

PRICE:
45p = about $0.68

DESCRIPTION OF SNACK:
Dark chocolate bar filled with sweet gooey 'fondant' centre, either in sugar (plain) flavour or sugar-peppermint flavour. Though there isn't actually any cream in them, I checked.

SSI RATING (SNACK SATISFACTION INDEX - 1-10): 3.8

Miss Fruit & Nutty - guest snacker, British, spoon lover.

UPSIDE:

The packaging is nice and for one sweet moment you think you are actually getting a snack with a soft creamy centre. You're not, it's just sugar. So for the second upside, the sugar rush almost makes you feel like you've been sucking down the narcotics. My heart is still racing, and I can type at twice the speed.

The peppermint variety is far superior, the sugar being softened by the minty goodness. In fact, I might even recommend it as an after-lunch stomach calming snack. However, the plain (chocolate cream) version is rubbish. Maybe a snack for those falling-asleep-at-the-desk moments.... either that or very soon the Celebrities will be chomping them down at one of their crazy parties. Those crazy kids...

DOWNSIDE:

Surely I might have hinted at this - oh yeah, it doesn't taste good. AND it gives you a sugar hangover an hour later. It's like a Bounty bar without the coconut, where the coconut has been replaced with sugar. The 'cream' in the title is a red-herring... there ain't no cream. (And I mean that sentence in the gangster way, not the grammatically correct way.)

PACKAGING:

Looks classy, nice and plain, but it looks like you splashed out and it's a snack for adults and not for children. I feel pretty sophisticated right now.

DO YOU RECOMMEND THIS SNACK? (YES/NO - EXPLAIN):

YES to the peppermint flavour, NO to the plain chocolate cream (unless you get off on headache inducing sugar highs).

SHOULD IT BE EXPORTED TO THE STATES?

In general, I think the American snacker has a sweeter tooth, so maybe this would taste like heaven to them. I doubt it though, there are too many other good snacks to waste the postage money on. Frankly I'd be embarrassed to send this over as an example of British confectionary. It does have a Royal crest on it 'by appointment to Her Majesty', but then again so does most stuff over here, so it's not much to get excited about. Apparently, the Queen likes snacks, too. Excellent.
